Tiny House Tourism

Tiny house tourism is a very popular choice when traveling. It’s relatively cheap and usually in more “nature heavy” areas not far from cities. Airbnb offers a lot of options and they’re all beautiful. So let’s talk about some of Airbnb’s options!

Hosted by Porter, this 1 bedroom 1 bath container cabin is located in Catskill Forest in west Saugerties, New York. Porter also hosts other cabins in this forest, but they are all purposefully distanced from each other to allow visitors to have their own space. This tiny house is off-grid and offers some cozy amenities such as a wood stove and a fire ring. One unique amenity offered is a wood-fired sauna! The location is also great for stargazing and has a beautiful mountain view. The cabin, while being off-grid, has the facilities to be warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The location has also been rated with 5-stars by 90% of recent guests!

This tiny house location is great for those who want to be secluded, while not being far from a town or city. The forest itself is about 15 minutes from Saugerties, which has a great selection of restaurants, shopping, and even historical sites! Most reviewers included some restaurants such as Love Bites Cafe and Miss Lucy’s Kitchen. If you don’t feel like going too far out, there are some hiking paths in the forest where you’re likely to see streams, overlooks, and even wildlife! This guidebook also lists more things to do in Saugerties!

Speaking of ratings, this tiny house has a 4.8/5.0-star rating overall with 53 reviews! Porter also takes pride in the fact that 6 guests have proposed at this location! (All said yes by the way!) Reviews commonly applaud Porter’s response time as well as how beautiful the location and tiny house are. Another popular amenity amongst reviewers is the outdoor bath and shower. Past visitors also compare this tiny house to glamping! Glamping is a mix between “glamorous” and “camping”, in this case we’ve ditched the tent and sleeping bags for a tiny house and a bed!

Located in Sevierville, Tennessee, this cozy mountainside cabin hideaway is hosted by Joseph and comes complete with electricity and Wi-Fi. This tiny house sleeps 4 with one bedroom and a queen-size pull-out mattress in the living room. The bedroom is closed off on its own and features a full-sized kitchen and bathroom. The tiny house also features large windows with views of the trees on the mountain ridge, in addition to this there is a hot tub on the front porch!

Like with most tiny house vacation homes, the tiny house itself is in a secluded area, but Gatlinburg isn’t far! If you’re looking to visit the mountains in Tennessee, Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are the most popular towns to visit. This location is about 15 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 30 minutes from Gatlinburg. There’s a ton to do in both towns, there’s something for everyone! Some popular places to visit in Pigeon Forge are Dollywood, The Titanic Museum, Hollywood Wax Museum, and WonderWorks. There are also a lot of “dinner and a show” type places around that have some great food and entertainment (I personally would recommend going to the Hatfield & Mccoy Dinner Show). Gatlinburg is home to Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies and the Gatlinburg Space Needle. It also has nice eatery and wineries/breweries, but mostly scenic attractions like various mountain coasters. If you’re looking for a more kid-friendly vacation, you’re likely to find more to do in Pigeon Forge than Gatlinburg. You can check out the full list of the host’s guidebook here.

With 89 reviews, this tiny house also has a 4.8/5.0-star rating! Most reviews praise how beautiful the property is and how much they appreciate how secluded it is while not being too far from the attractions. Most people say this is great for a couple’s getaway, but as mentioned before, the tiny house can sleep 4!
